We have been running the Life Giving Skills project since last September and it continues to be a great success. Each week we get children and adults involved with all sorts of farming and horticultural activities, focussing upon sustainable farming on a micro level. To give you a snapshot, last week following the discovery of a fly strike attack on a lamb, a volunteer suggested we make fly traps to lure them away from the sheep. So using recycled bottles and fish guts from the neighbouring farm we created some traps which made our stomach turn, but successfully lured lots of flies in by the end of the day. The sheep were then sheared, and the day was rounded off with some sign painting.
If you have children and want to join us for these weekly activity days then do get in contact. They are on Fridays throughout the year from 9:30am – 4:30pm.
