At Manna we are learning to be resourceful and imaginative with things that would otherwise go to waste. We have made links with local people and businesses who are giving us all manner of useful provisions. For example, a local tree surgeon drops off his wood chippings which we use for weed suppressants, pathways, and a mulch for fruit trees. We also have a chap who periodically delivers pallets which have so far been turned into a bank of composters and a hay feeder for the sheep. Our garage has even offered car batteries to store solar energy to run the water pump. The recent offer is for an unending supply of car tyres which we are yet to work out how to use, so any ideas are gratefully received!
